The son of the legendary Roy Harper, Nick Harper has been described as 'One of the finest guitarists of his generation, his soaring vocal range, and propensity for epic song place him somewhere between Rufus Wainwright and Jeff Buckley' (Mojo). A folk troubadour, an acoustic balladeer - with a touch of rock 'n' roll on the side. He's not folk. He's emo skiffle. Pastoral hard rock. Progressive soul.
2023 sees the release of a new, uniquely styled, acoustically driven album "Tempus Fugitive" and tour to support it. In his new album Nick explores the past, present and the future in his own singular way.
The new project follows up recent successful sojourns back in time to explore swinging 60s London (58 Fordwych Rd); 19th century Fantasy literature and 1980s West Country
romance (Phantastes) and an epic poem lost in time (A Wiltshire Tale).
Will this be the one album to unite them all? Only time will tell...
This will be Nick Harper's only tour of 2023
‘Harper has so much musicianship in him it just leaks out all over the place.’ The Times
‘One of the finest guitarists of his generation, the Bard of Wiltshire’ - Mojo
‘He deserves to become a major figure in his own right’ - The Guardian
‘Dylan for the iPod generation...Betjeman with a guitar.’ - Guitarist
“Album of the Month: Dubbed 'the acoustic Hendrix' and the 'English Jeff Buckley', with this amount of melodic and sonic ingenuity, Nick Harper could be dubbed 'the new Beck' - but that would be a bigger compliment to Mr. Hansen than it would be to Harper.”
Support comes from Patrick Duff fronted the cult 90’s group Strangelove who signed to Parlophone/EMI and released
three critically acclaimed albums and a string of top 40 singles.
They found admiration in their contemporaries with Radiohead’s Ed O’Brien noting “We toured with them and changed quite a
bit after. They were inspirational”.
Now a published author, Patrick Duff continues to write and record under his own name. With his 2022 autobiography 'The Singer' winning praise amongst critics and a sixth solo album in the making. Patrick is certified as an inspired artist steeped in a life dedicated to his craft and vision.
