Rhoda Dakar is one of the defining voices of the 2‑Tone movement. Emerging as the lead singer of The Bodysnatchers in 1979, she became a central figure in the ska, reggae and punk‑influenced wave that reshaped British music. Her powerful vocals and fearless stage presence led to collaborations with The Specials, and Special AKA, including her contribution to the landmark single "Free Nelson Mandela"

Across four decades, Dakar has continued to evolve while staying true to the socially conscious spirit of 2‑Tone. Her recent albums, "Version Girl" and "Version Girl in Dub," showcase her distinctive blend of ska, reggae, and dub, reimagining classic songs with warmth, wit, and unmistakable personality. She remains a respected collaborator, working with artists such as Dub Pistols, The Interrupters, and Madness.

In February 2027, Rhoda takes to the road with her six piece band for a special tour celebrating the grassroots music venues that remain the lifeblood of live music.

Expect an intimate, energetic journey through a remarkable career: songs from The Bodysnatchers and the 2 Tone era, alongside Rhoda’s solo material and more recent recordings — performed up close in the kind of independent venues where artists, audiences and musical communities have always come together
